Looks like this is for an even earlier version, GIMP 2.2. That's just because the manual is for 2.6 and not for 2.8 ). Yes, I've disabled the use of the 2.6 manual in GIMP 2.8.0. The fact is that the 'User Manual' on the GIMP on OS X download page (manual v 2.6) isn't working with GIMP 2.8.
